Have some Questions?
Clients usually want clarity, predictability, and reassurance when it comes to fees. The followings and answers reflect the some of the most commonly asked1. “What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?”
Appointments can be cancelled or rescheduled with 24 hours’ notice at no cost. Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, or missed entirely, are typically billed at the full session rate. This policy helps protect the therapist’s time and ensures availability for other clients who may be waiting.
2. “What payment methods do you accept?”
Most clients pay using credit or debit, though e‑transfers are also accepted for convenience. Payment is typically processed on the same day as the session, and a receipt is issued immediately for insurance or personal records.
3. “Do you offer a sliding scale or reduced‑fee sessions?”
A limited number of reduced‑fee spots may be available based on financial need. These are offered on a case‑by‑case basis and reviewed periodically to ensure fairness and accessibility. Clients can inquire confidentially if they’re experiencing financial strain.
4.“Is the first session the same price as regular sessions?”
Yes. The first session is billed at the standard rate because it includes a full clinical assessment, goal‑setting, and treatment planning. This ensures clients receive the same level of care and attention from the very beginning.
5. “Do you offer insurance receipts or direct billing?”
Yes. Clients receive official receipts after each session that can be submitted to insurance providers under Registered Psychotherapist or Registered Social Worker, depending on the clinician. Coverage varies by plan, so clients are encouraged to check their benefits to confirm eligibility. At this time, most clinics do not offer direct billing, but receipts make reimbursement straightforward.
